Alien Hero

The AlienHERO DVR comel in three models 4, 8 and 16 Channels

It has all the features you would expect from the alienDVR range including access from mobile phones, PTZ control and H.264 compression. It can be used as a standalone video surveillance product or as part of a powerful surveillance network making it perfect for home or small business applications.

The AlienHero can record on all channels a 25 fps @ CIF, 2CIF or 4CIF and you can view the output in high quality using the HDMI output.

The RS232 can be used in conjunction with the Kontrol and Kommand relay box (REL008) to open and close relays for many different devices including the Voiceoff unit.

The resolution of the VGA output is from 1024 x 768 to 1920 x 1080 and can simultaneously output to VGA and CVBS. You can view live, multiple cameras; adjusting the order of the cameras to suit your needs. You can, in live view, select group switch; manual switch and automatic cycle modes. There are option for privacy masking and with Multiple PTZ protocols gives you control of your favourite PTZ cameras.

When recording, you can set the DVR to cycle or non cycle recording mode. There are multiple recording types available, these include: manual, normal, alarm, motion, motion or alarm, and motion and alarm recording. For each day of the week you can set up up to 8 separate time periods to record using the different recording types above.

Backing up your recordings can be done via USB. You can save a video clip from the playback screen or back up a file from the video export function.

The alarm types supported include alarms for video loss, motion detection, video tempering, video in/out format unmatched, illegal access, network disconnection, IP conflict, hard disk error and hard disk full. With various alarm handling methods such as pop-up alarm image on monitor, audible warning, notify surveillance centre, trigger alarm output, send Email, etc. The AlienHERO gives you the flexibility to suit the many CCTV installation you will come across.

You can control your AlienHERO via a mouse, IR control, keyboard (PTZ790) or the client software (CCTVWindow) supplied free with your DVR. The AlienHERO is fully networkable and can be accessed from PC software or the special mobile Apps over a LAN or via the Internet.

Alien Hybrid

The superb alienHybrid DVR works with both analogue cameras and IP cameras. This makes new systems and upgrades easier all round. Installers don't have to worry about compatibility and end-users can upgrade their VCR or DVR to the alienHybrid HVR but still use their existing analogue cameras and add new IP ones as and when needed.

2-way Talkback

By connecting a microphone locally to the HVR and wiring a loudspeaker system such as the VoiceOff from the HVR to a surveillance area, the CCTV operator can talk back to 2 separate zones.

This feature can be used for security purposes to warn off an intruder for business and property management purposes by using it to communicate with a visitor at the entrance gates.

For the majority of businesses that are not manned 24/7, using the Talkback feature gives the owner/manager an extra pair of eyes and voice even when they are not there. If an intruder breaks into the property or its perimeter during the night, they can be alerted by an alarm input such as a break beam detector and then "warn off" the intruder.

Instant Detective

Allows you to select a specific area in an image recording and search it for video motion detected events.

For Example: A car is stolen from a car park. Instant Detective allows the CCTV operator to select the area in the camera’s image where the car had been parked and look for video motion detection within a given time slot that occurred only in the depicted area. Any activity within that area of the camera’s recorded image can quickly be accessed and saved for vital video evidence.

Instant Detective is a great feature for recordings captured in busy public places such as stations or airports as it can be used to limit the time spent by an operator or the police reviewing hours of recorded footage. Currently this feature is unique to the Hybrid and can be operated within the HVR and CCTVwindow software.

Unsurpassed HDD Management

The alienHybrid has unsurpassed HDD management allowing critical cameras to be allocated certain drives for recording.

For example, a key camera overlooking a till can be allocated 1 drive for its recording whilst remaining cameras can be left with the remaining drives to share. The benefit would be that the till camera has an extended recording period before it will overwrite.

This feature is further enhanced with the "Duplicate" drive recording facility, where the HVR can be managed to make 2 drives record the same images, thus creating a back up within the HVR itself in case of a hard drive error.

Where file back ups are required for evidence purposes, quick copies can be made on to a USB stick or using the HVR’s built in CD/DVD writer.

If an immediate copy of evidence cannot be made, the DVR has a "File Lock" facility to prevent a recorded file from being overwritten completely. This can be unlocked once it is certain that a copy has been made.

Alarm Signals over IP

On IP cameras the trigger is sent to the HVR over the network requiring no additional wiring back to the HVR.

Each camera including any connected IP cameras can be linked to an alarm input such as a PIR, break beam, door contact or panic button to activate recording from that camera. An intelligent buffer system retains recorded footage from prior to the event occurring as well as for the predefined alarm time.

Recordings can also be triggered for video loss and tampering so if a camera is damaged, this will be seen as an alarm and footage will be retained from prior to the damage.

This feature is further enhanced by the ability to activate relays to control sounders, strobes, lights, voice warnings to deter suspected intruders. See opposite.

Control up to 16 Devices over IP

Using the remote control relays with in the client software, you can connect to the alienHybrid via a PC or laptop and switch up to 4 devices on or off. When used with IP cameras, the alienHybrid can trigger a relay for each one - up to a total of 16!

These relays can control lights, gates, bell boxes and sounder devices such as the VoiceOff alarm-activated sound and voice warning unit or other suitable devices to detect intruders or give access to bonafide visitors.

For example, you may see an intruder on site and want to warn them off by triggering a sounder from the comfort of your office or even from your home miles away.

Live CCTV Images on Your Mobile
Mobile phone clients are being upgraded to support the new EKO+ model the first of which will be available soon, this will allow you to see live images and even control PTZ.

Real-Time Record on All Channels

The alienEKO+ DVR records in real-time video from each of its 8 or 16 camera channels so you don't need to miss a thing. Each channel can record up to 25FPS in D1 quality.

Remote Internet Monitoring

Connect from anywhere in the world and watch live or recorded images on a standard PC or laptop with the free remote monitoring software supplied. Network Using the same software, the EKO+ can also be networked to allow users to easily monitor CCTV images from the PC at their desk.

Easy to operate

For maximum flexibility, the new alienEKO+ can be controlled by the user with the free Remote Handset supplied, by a standard USB mouse or using the remote keyboard, code PTZ790.

Comprehensive HDD Management

Individual recorded files can be locked to prevent them from being written over, even a complete hard drive can be set to Read-Only to save valuable footage from being recorded over and lost.

Multi-Channel Playback

Operators can see what happened where and when using the DVR's multi-channel playback feature to view up to 16 cameras at once on the same screen!

Easy Back-up

Once recorded on the HDD, recordings can be grouped for fast back up onto a DVD or to an external USB drive. Footage is easy to retrieve using the free CCTV Window software to back up files over a network or over the internet onto a different PC.

PTZ Control

The alienEKO+ DVR can be used either locally or over a network or the Internet to control PTZ cameras on the system. It can use most protocols and will control cameras via the free client software on a PC or even using a mobile phone* instead of a PTZ keypad. Enhanced zoom can also be obtained locally using the mouse to select an area of the PTZ display to digitally zoom in.

Talkback - 2 Way Audio Feature

The EKO+'s built in 2-way audio channel allows a user to talk back to areas under surveillance using an external speaker such as the Voice Off VOX200.

Priority HDD Management

Allocate key cameras a drive for recording whilst remaining cameras are left with the remaining drives to share. Giving extended recording time to the key camera. In effect each camera can be given a certain amount of it's own disc space.

Alien Pod

Ideal for shop counters or where space is restricted, the alienPOD measures only (W)200 x (H)130mm x (D)275mm

As a standard DVR up to four CCTV cameras can be connected to the alienPOD which simultaneously records images from all of them storing this digitally on to its internal hard drive. Using a mouse to control the unit, the stored video can then be played back by camera number, time and date or by alarm.

Remote Internet or Phone Surveillance

For the shop owner or manager, the remote monitoring via the internet or via a mobile phone gives them a second pair of eyes when they can't be in the branch themselves.The Remote monitoring software is supplied free with the DVR so the user can connect to the alienPOD from anywhere in the world and watch live or recorded images on a standard PC or laptop!

Live CCTV Images on Your Mobile

Using the latest generation of Smart phones, live CCTV images can be viewed from the alienPOD and the Phone Connect software even allows Pan Tilt control of compatible PTZ cameras.

Recording Modes

The alienPOD has four recording modes and for total flexibility it is even possible to use a mixture of them to suit the camera's purpose: Constant, Scheduled, Alarm & VMD.
For example, a shop may record 8:30-17:30 Mon-Sat by a scheduled recording setting and also record if the burglar alarm goes off outside those times using the alarm activation mode.

Audio Recording

As well as recording video, the alienPOD can also record audio. A carefully positioned microphone over a till or in a reception area could prove vital in “who said what” when seeing who did what is not enough.

Easy Network Back Up

As the alienPOD is easy to network it is easy to download critical information from it to a networked computer. You can then use the computer's CD or DVD writer to copy the files to a writable disk. The video files produced by the DVR are archived in an H264 format.
